Wikipedia says about Port Management: "Large ports need to deal with a number of disparate activities: the movement of ships, containers and other cargo, the loading and unloading of ships and containers, customs activities. As well as human resources, anchorages, channels, lighters, tugs, berths, warehouse and other storage spaces have to be allocated and released. The efficient management of a port involves managing these activities and resources, managing the flows of money involved between the agents providing and using these resources, and providing management information."
When it comes to vessel port management information system, only few solutions are available out there. We come with a complete solution that accommodates customer and port planner/manager needs. This solution is based on the best practices of common port management and has been successfully implemented in Cigading Port, a largest private port in Indonesia managed by PT. Krakatau Bandar Samudera. Our experience is currently enriched by implementing our solution in Batam martime ports that consists of about 70 of all kind of ports. We have developed and managed a product called PORTMAP in order to fulfill common port management requirements.
