Community Server is all about community. It is a platform for rapidly enabling online communities and includes all the integrated tools you need to create your own community. These tools include discussion forums, distribution lists, newsgroups, weblogs (blogs), file galleries, content management, and other integrated tools required to enable online communities. During its evolution, Community Server is also considered as most used portal engine and web application framework in .NET framework.
In this session, we’ll get deep dive into the new Community Server 2007 (CS 2007). We’ll introduce what Community Server is all about and the newest CS 2007 features. We’ll show you the newest engines included in CS 2007, including Chameleon as the theme engine, Zion as the new file storage system, Morpheus as the new membership system. We’ll demonstrate to you how to build custom pages using controls available in those engines. Building a custom module will be also demonstrated using Community Server SDK and then we’ll show you step by step guide to get that module online immediately. Like we always do, you’re gonna have some fun with us in configuring, customizing, and deploying Community Server.
